Bio: I was raised in Farmington, Utah in a family of seven boys.
Hunting and Fly Fishing were passions of my Dad that he passed
along to all of us. Fall was always my favorite time of year
because with it came our yearly back packing trip and the start of
the hunting seasons, that and BYU football. It didn't matter what
it was, whether it was big game, small game, birds, if it had a
season we hunted it.
My Mom always had a soft spot in her heart for dogs. It's a
quality that I inherited from her. When I was 14 I got the first
dog that I could call my very own. He was a big, beautiful black
lab named Stormy. He and I learned to bird hunt together. Most of
the time the lessons learned came from the mistakes that we made,
but we had a good time regardless. After 14 years of companionship
Stormy died, and I still miss him to this day. I realized because
of him the thing I enjoy most about bird hunting is watching the
dog work. I have a new dog now, a yellow lab named Hank. I am a
little wiser now but still seem to make plenty of mistakes training
him. He's coming along nicely though and I still get a kick out of
every bird he flushes or every retrieve that he makes.
I've always enjoyed hunting waterfowl but have never been real good
at it. Upland Game is where I spend most of my time hunting.
Since I met Travis though, I have had some real enjoyable mornings
out in the blind learning from him, and I look forward to many more
in the future.
Off Season: Besides working, I spend quite a bit of time training
with Hank preparing him for Hunt Tests. Occasionly I get out to do
a little fishing, and usually will play on a few different city
rec. teams. (Softball and Flag Football) I try to stay somewhat
active. The majority of my time though is spent with the wife and
kids.
